Bryce Canyon

Posted by
Scott F. Schilling (San Martin, United States) on 1 December 2011 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio.

A mix of light and shadow provided dramatic patterns on the back side of a line of snow squalls at Bryce Canyon National Park.

To be honest, the glorious light on the rock face takes all of the attention, unless you had pointed it out I don't think I might have noticed the clouds.

This is wonderful, Scott, with the glorious light on the cliffs ... and perfect thirds as well.

Gorgeous light and beautiful composition Scott. I love the lit underside of the clouds. Looks warm but we both know how cold it was!

Call me an idiot but to me, the clouds are what really take this image over the top..The light is absolutely spectacular, to be sure, but those awesome clouds, hanging over the top, act as a mirror of sorts to the hoodoo area below...Just as every story should have a beginning, a middle, and an end,...your wonderful composition here has a top, a bottom, and a middle...each one of them feeds upon the other and exists in unison to make one magnificent compositon. This is one for Mountain Light Gallery's walls! Or anybody else's for that matter! Great job, Scott!! Hope you all had a wonderful T'Day.
