This is always a bit of a hike and I am usually breathing heavily when I get to the top. However, it is always worth the view! This image is taken from one of my favorite locations near the top of Fremont Peak overlooking the Monterey Bay at Sunset.

You knew how to capture the sun as it displayed its beams on mountains, it is magnificent! The kind of moment when we imagine one moment in the paradise. I like the cloud sea which extends in background

Fantastic capture...Using the yellow flower as a compositional element and that great sunstar (darn Nikon glass) really adds to the life to the image.

Stunning - so many wonderful elements - such as the way the sun strikes the small yellow flower in the foreground.

I love the wonderful composition! Great view from foreground to the sea of fog! This makes me want to get back there soon!

If you were breathing heavily at the end of this hike, i would be requiring Life Flight Service I am afraid! Nevertheless, I am sure glad you made it becasue this is a wonderful scene. I really love those little yellow flowers just catching the eye...they are lit up like runway lights...beautiful! The awesome sunstar as Mike addresses, really tops this scene for sure. That classic low hanging fog and the blue tones in the rocks all work so wonderfully together with everything else here! And after seeing several different images from atop Fremont Peak...I just love the shape of it. Just beautiful, Scott! Thank you for this!

I'd love to be able to take advantage of an opportunity like that Scott, but they'd have to drop me in by chopper lol! :-)

Awesome capture Scott and excellent processing. Worth the heavy breathing in my opinion. Glad the rattlers stayed away!

Wonderful sunset in the mountains. Excellent capture. Fantastic work.

The small aperture was definitely your friend for this image, Scott. The sunstar and the clear foreground make this image a winner! *****

Scott this tops the shots I have seen from the Peak. Composition, lighting, processing; I love the sun rays, the fact the sky is not blown out, the light in the center of the frame leading the eye from the rocks to the grass , , , beautiful!

Beautiful! When we were kids, we use to hike up to the top of Fremont Peak and had a similar view. Your photo brings back memories of the sights, sounds, even the feel of the air. Is this photo available as a print? Please contact me with information to order this. Thank you!
