A few times a year; in our area of California, we get subtropical moisture that comes up from Mexico through Southern California. For a few days last week we had spectacular clouds. This type of weather pattern often creates a break in the cloud cover to the west, which allows the clouds to light up with spectacular color just after sunset. I drove east to get under the cloud shield to the top of Pacheco Pass, along Highway 152 near San Luis Reservoir. I made it just in time for the light show. As the sun set a spectacular display of natures colors lit the sky!
