The evening fog rolls in along the coastal hills of California as the last touch of warm twilight illuminates the sky.

Stunning color composition! Wonderful processing! 5*****!
28 Aug 2010 6:32am
Long exposure makes it like a giant river to me.
28 Aug 2010 6:38am
Amazing effect on the landscape.
28 Aug 2010 7:27am
Absolutely brilliant. Reminds me (which is good!) of Santana's Moonflower album cover
28 Aug 2010 7:54am
Did this require filtration i.e. ND filter?
28 Aug 2010 8:02am
@Curly: No filters on this one. It was well after sunset and I used iso and aperture to get a long exposure to show the motion of the fog.
May be too "noisy" in the foreground, but a reallly nice composition with shapes, colours and light !
28 Aug 2010 8:07am
Fantastic long exposure shot. I love the colors ! and the composition. Have a wonderful weekend Scott :)
28 Aug 2010 9:28am
looks like water...amaizing!
28 Aug 2010 9:37am
Incredible Scott! The fog looks amazing and fluid...Is this in the Morgan Hill area?
28 Aug 2010 12:30pm
What an amazing effect you obtained with your long exposure. The colors above and then the lights below the fog are wonderful. People are commenting on the noise. If it were burned away, you would lose the bit of color you captured, right?
28 Aug 2010 12:50pm
like a great big duvet...superb!
28 Aug 2010 12:55pm
I miss that! Used to get great views of the fog from above at Nepente. Lovely.

I love this image Scott - the 61-second exposure turned the fog into a silky liquid and allowed for some visual motion in this scene. Hope you and Chris are having a good time in Canada. Tell her "good luck" with her race!
28 Aug 2010 3:05pm
Sorry, I have only five stars to rate... :(

28 Aug 2010 8:31pm
Absolutely beautiful. Big Bertha was blowing her horn I am sure!
Nice flowing effect in the fog from the longer exposure...I don't think I'll get tired of this location either. Have a great weekend.
28 Aug 2010 9:10pm
i like the gleam of houses in the bottom right corner.....human life in all that vastness so tiny.....
28 Aug 2010 10:45pm

Very surreal looking as if the fog is encroaching over the land to swallow it all up! I love images that spur my imagination.

That's some thick fog! And that little bit of 'life' below gives a sense of scale. Beautiful!
31 Aug 2010 1:37am
