There is a time once a month when the Moon and Sun play hide and seek at the beginning and end of the day. This is the best time to attempt to capture the moon and foreground elements with some light and detail. This is a winter morning this week at first light. The colored magenta wedge is clearly visible that separates night from day and the sky is beginning to show the dawns first light - this allows for an exposure that can capture some light on the foreground elements - the sunrise is to my back and the moon is setting to the west.
