An Alaskan cold front and subtropical moisture are combining to possibly dump several feet of snow on the High Sierra through Wednesday. This is a photo from this afternoon at Kirkwood, California at about 8,000' elevation.

This is wonderful, Scott. I love how the 'old snow' drapes off the roofline and that driveway will certainly have to be cleared yet again! Me thinks they're used to it! :D

The contours of the roof and motion implied by the blowing snow give this image a surreal feeling to it. I like the punch of the red window frames.
