You have perfectly captured the essence of solitude one can feel in these immense mountains. You continue to demonstrate with your images the importance of arriving for first light. The moments are there for all to enjoy, but most are in their nice warm beds; this is the payoff for climbing out of yours. Happy New Year to you and your family.

With your description I can see more clearly what is going on with the light, the colors in the sky. The clouds set high and the sun still on the rise illuminates them from beneath. I'm glad you climbed out of bed for this, as Don says. It was worth it.
