I love the little lake tucked in there and the reflections in it. 5 Nov 2009 8:49pm PD from Overland Park, Kansas, United StatesNice shot - and it goes well with the podcast. did you do much post processing here? These kind of shots are hard for me because of the wide range of light levels If you expose the sky like you want, then the foreground is too dark and vice versa. 5 Nov 2009 9:34pm @PD: Thanks for the comment - I use three methods in these situations - 1) ND filters to lower the light on the sky - 1,2,or a 3 stop graduated neutral density filter - this is the fastest method and requires less processing work 2) bracket the images for masking in photoshop or 3) bracket the images for use in an HDR program for processing - for this image I used 2 bracketed images and processed in photoshop using masks. This result gives me great clarity throughout the image but requires a lot of processing work to get the results I want, but in the end it looks more like what I saw vs. what the camera can see. DarkElf from Perth, Australiabeautiful mountain landscape! i like the layers of trees and ridges as the line up across the frame and the touches of orange at the top complete the photo really well! 6 Nov 2009 12:40am Lambspun from Madison, Maine, United StatesThis is gorgeous.....blue-greens abound....wonderful landscape ;) 6 Nov 2009 2:22am Seraphine from San Francisco, United Statesi love the lake. pretty soon all that will be covered in snow... i hope. 6 Nov 2009 5:00am Anina from Auckland, New ZealandBeautifu!!!
