Arizona High DesertPosted by Scott F. Schilling (San Martin, United States) on 13 June 2009 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio. One of the things that I find fascinating about the Arizona Desert is the afternoon clouds and thunderstorms that form almost on a daily basis during the summer months. This can make for some incredible sunrise and sunset photography as well. This is a photograph of the high desert country near the Betatakin Ruin at the Navajo National Monument - on the way to Monument Valley. Because this area is high desert the plants and trees are simply spectacular that dot the rocky landscape.
