Posted by Scott F. Schilling (San Martin, United States) on 11 June 2009 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio.

The turquoise color of this plant contrasted against the red soil makes me think of Navajo jewelry. Beautiful.

Those yellow flowers really stand out against reddish soil. The image looks a bit oversharpened on my lcd.

I'm a big fan of mountains, then ocean or any body of water, so I'd put desert last. However, you are making me rethink that mindset. ;-) Your desert shots are so awesome.

Your last three posts are all beautiful Scott (I got behind following your blog while I was at the workshop). I am now officially on "thunderstorm watch." Things probably won't get going much until next month - we need hotter weather. But I am ready to go on a moment's notice.

Normally I like to see some vignetting; but your colors force you eye to go right to the center of the shot. Well done!
