A 15 minute exposure looking east towards the crest of the Sierra Nevada and the Yosemite Wilderness. You can see the lights from Mammoth and Bishop California area which lies on the East Slope of the Sierra Nevada Mountains - many miles away!

It does look like it is raining stars! Love the little peek of half dome, too!
I also love the color that the far-away lights give this image. I know that we have a huge light pollution problem, but it really works in your favor here I think!

Hi Scott, I actually finished working on my image from this location yesterday and will have it post later this week. You did capture Nevada Fall in this shot and agree with others that the light pollution from Mammoth actually enhances the frame! I had problems with jet streaks in my frame also - looks like you did a good job of removing them from yours.

We went through Bishop and then caught Route 6 on the way home from taking my daughter to college in Oakland California. We were looking for a scenic route .....and scenic we got. I took a lot of pictures on our journey which I have begun posting on my BlogWatch. What a beautiful area of California! It was quiet, colorful, pristine....your picture is gorgeous!
