Yosemite Falls

This is one of the iconic locations in Yosemite that I could sit in a chair and stare at most of the day - just bring me food occasionally and a drink of water. Spring runoff creates a water show unlike any other - Yosemite Falls, California.

Just beautiful Scott, great shutter speed! I love the feeling of how powerful the water is- and how much water is coming over the falls....I think that choosing to "Freeze" the flow really makes this work in a way that conveys that power.

Yosemite Fall is the grandfather of all waterfalls in Yosemite and the most iconic. Your image (and the one I posted today) shows that certain subjects can indeed be photographed under harsh light and still be worthy of capture. I sense a B&W version is on the way?

That does it - I have to go back in the spring!! Yosemite was wonderful in July, but just didn't have that kind of flow in the falls. I could look at this gorgeous shot all day.

This is terrific, Scott. Outstanding light. Love the amount of meadow in the foreground. One of the best that I have seen of Yosemite blasting away.

Great photo! I love the shadow on the left against the bright rock on the right. That's tricky to get just right, but you've done it beautifully! And I love the grass at the bottom that frames it all. :)
