Tunnel View 2Posted by Scott F. Schilling (San Martin, United States) on 18 April 2009 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio. Another View from Tunnel View - as I mentioned yesterday, these photographs were taken as an autumn storm was approaching the Yosemite area - As I arrived the cloud deck was lowering and I tried as rapidly as I could to get set up and begin shooting before the higher peaks were covered in clouds - You can see in this photo on the left, El Capitan, Half Dome is just visible left of center nestled in the clouds, and Bridaveil Falls is to the right hand side. The one thing that bothered me about this image is that it lacks any strong foreground element, but I loved the view! Tracy from La Selva Beach, United StatesThis is amazing Scott! I love the processing, the textures are great, and Bridal veil shines! 18 Apr 2009 5:47am Pavan Kaul from Mumbai, IndiaWhat can one say about such beautiful work!? To reduce it to technicalities would be a sin! Your images address my soul Scott! Thank you:) 18 Apr 2009 6:02am zOOm from Paris, FranceGreat and rich mono. Ansel Adams could have done this one ! Excellent. 18 Apr 2009 6:20am Paco Díaz from Palma de Mallorca, SpainI like also very much this one, maybe I prefer the first one, not for the quality of the image, but for the wider angle that shows the trees as a frame of the whole. 18 Apr 2009 6:52am roentarre from Melbourne, AustraliaQuite a stuning view using black and white conversion 18 Apr 2009 8:00am Linerberry from Sumner, Christchurch, New ZealandMagnificent landscape.....magnificent image!!! 18 Apr 2009 8:48am P J W Miller from Chase Terrace, United KingdomView too is a little closer but just as awesome and beautiful, again, love your treatment 18 Apr 2009 9:23am Eric Cousineau from Sherwood Park, CanadaWell done Scott! Although I agree with you on the lack of a strong foreground element I think I works to your advantage in this shot. The eye is drawn into the depth of the shot with the compression of the cloud formations almost giving a tunnel like view. I like it a lot!!! ;-) 18 Apr 2009 11:54am Ajay from Pune, IndiaThe background effects are so powerful the missing of foreground isn't even noticed, Scott. 18 Apr 2009 2:47pm "Marie" :-) from perth, AustraliaAwesome processing Scott, brilliant photo too. Have a great weekend. 18 Apr 2009 3:09pm john4jack from Corvallis, Oregon, United StatesI keep going back and forth, and back and forth, and still can't make up my mind. I do for certain like it in monochrome. 18 Apr 2009 3:10pm B. Thomas from Arlington, Texas, United StatesBeautiful. I think having no foreground elements just emphasizes the feeling of the hugeness of that valley from up there. 18 Apr 2009 3:14pm Miguel Almeida from Lisboa, PortugalHi Scott, 18 Apr 2009 4:23pm Stephen Phillips from San Francisco, United StatesNothing should bother you about this stellar image. I've stood at this spot so many times - in every season and time of day - and have nothing near this to show for my travels. Bravo! 18 Apr 2009 11:51pm |
