Beach AbstractPosted by Scott F. Schilling (San Martin, United States) on 4 April 2009 in Abstract & Conceptual. A sunset at Garrapata Beach - Big Sur - this evening had upper clouds and a fog bank below - the upper clouds lit up with color with the lower clods remained gray. I used a long exposure to blur the motion a bit. Jen from St. George, United StatesWow! That's so great! I love how the cool colors in the middle are framed by the warmer tones in the top and bottom of the frame. And I love the effect of the longer shutter speed. Great shot! 4 Apr 2009 5:31am Pavan Kaul from Mumbai, IndiaWonderful processing, Scott! The striations in the gray fog bank almost seem to move as I scroll up and down to seen the entire photo. The longer exposure worked its magic for you! 4 Apr 2009 12:14pm Evelyne Dubos from Le Mans, FranceA wonderful unreal vision... like in a dream. Great effect (and good decision to lengthen exposure) with the details in the sand and rocks separated by the more diffuse swash zone and surrounding water. Is the linearity in the fog bank also a function of that longer exposure? Really nice. Thanks for sharing your terrific picture and your skills! 4 Apr 2009 1:48pm @Tony Duque: Tony, thanks for the comment - the long exposure blurred the fog - but I think something got exaggerated in the processing and downgrade to jpg - not sure but the fog is a bit messed up on this currently - I may have to redo john4jack from Corvallis, Oregon, United StatesOh Scott; this is a fantastic breathtaker! 4 Apr 2009 3:07pm dogilicious from Millerstown, PA, United StatesWow!
