Here Comes the Sun!Posted by Scott F. Schilling (San Martin, United States) on 6 March 2009 in Landscape & Rural. At least the sun rising gave me a nice warm feeling as I was attempting to sing that song - Here Comes the Sun - I think that was by the Beatles?? This is a large wide-angle view of the frozen Caples Lake Area in the Eldorado National Forest, in the High Sierra. The wind howls through this flat open area as storms hit the Sierra Nevada Mountains from the Pacific Ocean. The Spanish or French named these mountains the Sierra Nevada - meaning snowy mountains - which is true - in good winters the snow in this area can be 10' and higher in depth, and provides water for much of the agriculture and business in the State of California. Utterly wonderful 6 Mar 2009 3:50pm Paco Díaz from Palma de Mallorca, SpainMuy bonita esta salida del sol: todo cambia cuando aparece en el horizonte. 6 Mar 2009 6:04pm Don Smith from California, United StatesHi Scott, I am really liking how you are utilizing foreground elements and graphic lines to lead the eye through the frame. The low perspective really works with this image and the delicate markings in the snow relly help to move the eye foreard. The processing is also fantastic with all your images. If you are using HDR it is now undetectable - hopefully the masking techniques we went over are helping also. Keep up the great work! 6 Mar 2009 6:23pm zahai from Berlin, GermanyOw, wonderful scenery. Love the detail and light... i still couldn't get myself to actually get up that early (or stay out late) to shoot at sunrise... 6 Mar 2009 6:27pm Tony Duque from Raleigh, United StatesAnother beauty, Scott. Such a photogenic setting. Your wide-open depth of field is so very additive... allows for real study/appreciation of the picture's many interesting and detailed elements. Let's not forget to pay homage to that sliver of a crescent moon... "Dianna's fingernail," my mom would say. Thanks for sharing! 6 Mar 2009 10:05pm Yonatan from Bronx, United StatesA breathtaking view of a vast expanse!
