Yosemite Valley - Merced River

Posted by Scott F. Schilling (San Martin, United States) on 10 January 2009 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio.

This is another photo I took as an Autumn Storm departs Yosemite Valley as the morning sun begins to rise. This photo has a little more fog than some of the other similar compositions but I enjoyed the view of El Capitan and Bridal Veil falls almost obscured by the fog.

Emilio Garcia from Pleasanton, United States

In my opinion this photograph tops all of the other images of this Yosemite series. This one is just spectacular: the composition, the reflection, the colors, the misty mood in the distance, the mountains. Just superb. Congratulations.

Slap me hard with a wet kipper if this is not amongst the finest photographs I have ever seen!

Awesome is not a word I often use, but man oh man it's appropriate here. Superlatives don't come near to describing the beauty and quality in my opinion. So, awesome it is then... oh, and WOW!

@EYES WIDE SHUT: Thanks for the kind words Paul - but I am hoping a kipper won't hurt too bad! Thanks for the comments - they really help - I will print and frame this one to see how it turns out.

HEAVENLY ...... as the granite monolith and other mountains rise out of the misty fog, and Bridal Veil Falls spill into the treetops. This is definitely frame-ready ART!

JamesC from portland, United States

Electrifying, the colors are so out-of this world and saturated colors combined with the fog is mystical indeed. Good rendering of a classic location.
