Sentinel Dome Sunset

This view is from the top of Sentinel Dome in Yosemite National Park looking west at sunset. The sun is actually setting behind the Diablo Range about 100 miles to the west - The Diablo Range is located on the eastern side of the Santa Clara Valley - Silicon Valley. You can even see the silhouette of Mt. Diablo further to the north - although it is difficult to see in this small photo. The view from 8,000' looking to the west provides an incredible view - down the slope of the Sierra Nevada, across the Central Valley, and to the mountains of the San Francisco Bay Area. El Capitan is to the center/right of the frame.

Scott - this is amazing scene very well captured! the light and composition are excellent and colours outstanding! the valley ahead really drew me into the shot and i kept looking at it for a long while!
