Fall VineyardPosted by Scott F. Schilling (San Martin, United States) on 7 January 2009 in Food & Cuisine and Portfolio. I was able to capture this image as a rare thunderstorm worked its way through our area in the early morning in October. The sun turned the underside of the clouds pink for just a few minute before rising. This is an HDR image. EYES WIDE SHUT from The library of my soul, United KingdomA glorious and beautiful skyscape, ominous and threatening and yet strangely appealing. The times I have been spellbound by impending stormclouds to the point of letting them wash over me to see the spectacular visual changes as they happen. A delightful image that really shines. 7 Jan 2009 5:57am @EYES WIDE SHUT: Thanks for your kind words - I always appreciate the comments! dogilicious from Millerstown, PA, United StatesOminous sky but I could immediately smell the grapes, feel the air. A joy to the senses. 7 Jan 2009 11:52am @dogilicious: Thanks for the comment - interesting that you say you could smell the grapes - you aren't kidding. In the fall, when I walk through the vineyards, the grape/wine smell is very strong and aromatic. @Marie LC: Marie, thanks for your kind comments! I hope all is beautiful in France this time of year. Yonatan from Bronx, United StatesWonderful processing. I especially like the repitition and the composition of shot placing the the beautiful purple part of the sky off center. 7 Jan 2009 12:55pm @Yonatan: Yonatan, thanks for the comments! Don Smith from California, United StatesHi Scott, I remember you sending me this image after making it - I still really love this photograph - the touch of pink in the sky adds the perfect accent! Also, it is not an over-cooked HDR - it has a very natural feel - which can sometimes be hard to do with HDR! 7 Jan 2009 1:47pm @Don Smith: Don thanks for the comments! I enjoyed taking this photo because a thunderstorm through the area is more of a rarity and the HDR really helped catch the color that was created when the sunlight hit the rain on the underside of the clouds. @Veronelle: Thank you for your kind words! Suzanne from Huntington Bch, United StatesAbsolutely exquisite. Your HDR is totally natural looking and very beautiful. 7 Jan 2009 7:37pm @Suzanne: Suzanne, thank you! @greg: Greg thanks and enjoy the winter snow in Denver! @Stefan: Stefan, thanks for your kind words and keep warm in Austria! Stephen Phillips from San Francisco, United StatesFabulous, Scott. Those pinks against the gray sky just dance. Bravo! 7 Jan 2009 11:53pm Bill Jennings from (Bay Area Northern Calif), United StatesAnother fantastic vineyard shot!
