Big Sur - Winter Waves

An evening along the Big Sur coastline with large swells crashing against the coastline.
There were some big waves hitting this rock - at times the large waves would hit and shoot 50 feet in the air - for me it is Nature's fireworks show!

Great composition with good use of "thirds." The slow shutter speed has an interesting effect on waves that crash in an upward motion. Nice reflections seen in the wet sand.

This is amazing- I love the golden quality of light. Also like Don mentioned the reflection of the wave spray in the foreground sand is wonderful! You have great timing! I know that sometimes when you are waiting for these types of things to happen, it can take a while, and when the light is changing fast it can even feel a bit stressful!
